Rheumify updates
Question randomizer & progress reports
New features for the Rheumify app today include random topics for the question bank as well as a progress report. I made the changes in GlideApps with my trusty NotebookLM by my side to help guide me.
For NotebookLM, I loaded in some guides on how to use GlideApps as well as youtube videos and then asked for step by step directions.
Random Topics
Previously, I had all of the topics separated out into different data sets. A user was able to selected “Rheumatoid arthritis” but not have more of a typical representation of the test with multiple topics. I was unable to pull the questions from multiple data sets so I combined them all into one and indicated the topic on each for the “data” tab. For the “layout” tab, I then redirected all of the questions to the new sheet but put a filter on each by topic. After that, I created a new layout tab that pulled from the dataset but included all topics. The users now have the option of picking a specific topic or getting a mix of topics. It was a pretty fast fix and just took about an hour.
Progress Report
This was a little tricker as I wanted to be able to offer each user an individualized progress report by topic. I now had all of the questions on one form but I needed to tally all of the correct answers and the total answers corrected - for each user and for each topic. To do this, I followed NotebookLM’s instructions and created a new spreadsheet within Glide. Then I created a Topic column and matched the topics to those in the question bank. The next column is where the magic lies, the “relation” column, which links these two spreadsheets together through the “Topic” names. The next two columns are the “Number Correct” and the “Total Answered” and those are retrieved using this relation column. The last one is the “percent correct” which is put into a graph in the layout function. It was also a pretty fast change and took a little more than an hour. I’m excited to try the “relation” function again, there are so many potential uses, learn more about it here:
